Cliff Diving

Initially, my friend and I went up to Rick's Cafe to catch the sunset, and were amused by the kids who decided they would emulate the locals by jumping off the rather high cliffs into the ocean. After a few minutes and three pina coladas, however, the ides of jumping the cliff seemed to make perfect sense.

We were told that the high cliff was over a hundred feet above the water, and standing on its edge it was easy enough to believe. In hindsight, however, it probably is not such an extreme drop. Crashing into the water feet first hurt a little and my swim trunks almost came off from the force of hitting the water, but it was all over in two or three seconds.

There is a smaller cliff below to practice your style and steel your nerves. The bar next door to the cliffs is convenient for having your friends fork over congratulatory drinks on your foolhardy accomplishment.
