Monument Valley is the desert and rock-scape of many of the
TV and movie western films. The rock formations are nothing less than awesome.
The 2 evenings we were there, it threatened rain at dusk,
spoiling my hopes for golden colors in my photos. However, it is hard to be disappointed and nit-pick about the weather when everything is so beautiful. It is absolutely magical.
Get to the park overlook (and campground and restaurant)
early enough to drive the 16 (or so) mile road among the
rock formations. They close the road well before dusk to
ensure safe return by all.
