The Jackass Peguins

Penguins in South Africa? Who ever heard of something so ridiculous? But they're there, all right. I saw them with my own eyes, and up close, too. Hundreds of them congregate on the beach and rock banks out in the water, swimming (surprisingly fast), eating fish, and just generally living their lives. Named for their call which sounds like the braying of a jackass, these birds are well worth seeing. They are so accustomed to humans (but don't touch, they can definitely bite) that they sometimes seem to pose for photos.
