This is not your usual Mexican food. The guacamole has pomegranate seeds, and the salad has dried cranberries. This is not to say that the food is not good—it's just not what you might typically expect of Mexican food.

Unlike most Mexican restaurants, Barrio Cafe gives you bread with butter (no chips and salsa here). We ordered the guacamole, which was very good. Although, I can't say that I particularly enjoyed the chips. They seemed rather thick and hard.

I had the cochinta pibil tacos. It was flavorful and delicious. Although, somewhat heavy for a hot day. But still good. My friends ordered enchiladas. I'm not a huge fan of mole, but I think it was good.

For dessert, we had the churros, stuffed with caramel and carjeta, and a side of ice cream. It is their signature dessert—and for good reason. Yummy.

So, if you're interested in trying something different in Mexican cuisine, this is a great place to go.
