Joe's American Bar and Grill is located in Braintree in the South Shore Plaza, which is just off I-93. To start off, you get a round loaf of warm bread that you have to slice into yourself. Accompanying the bread is butter. Now for some reason, the butter, I find, is one of the perks. Even though you get bread, go for an appetizer, too. I would say the spinach dip. It comes with pita and tortilla chips. And if you are in the mood, make sure you get a cup of New England clam chowder. The menu is your American-style food. Burgers, steaks, fish, and fajitas all priced from $8 to $18 (give or take). I've had the burger, fajitas, and quesadillas several times. All have been really excellent. For dessert, you have a few options: warm apple crisp, ice-cream sundaes, cheesecake, and other types of cakes. You have to save room for dessert. The atmosphere is quite nice, with booths as well as tables. It is decorated with old pictures and bronze head busts. The lighting is set just right, with large lamps overhead lighting several portions of the restaurant. The servers are all dressed in white oxford shirts with an American flag tie. I often visit this restaurant, so I can say that it is a good deal for your money. If there is a wait, you do have the mall to walk around in. Just don't go too far, because the pager begins to beep at you saying you have gone to far and need to go back in range. It gets really annoying after awhile!
