Gonzalez y Gonzalez was not a very impressive experience. The menu consists of typical Mexican fare, nothing exceptional, and it was delivered very quickly. That's about all that impressed me. The food wasn't good at all. It was about one small step up from Taco Bell, and all tasted like it had been prepared earlier in the day and then just heated up. Our waiter was competant, but unimpressive. He took our order quickly and without any personality, and then didn't come back. All the food was brought out separately by different people, none of whom asked if we wanted anything else. The next time we saw our waiter he was bringing the check, which we hadn't asked for becuase we wanted another round of drinks. This is a complaint I'd never thought I'd ever make, but our table was way too small. They sat 3 people at one of those tiny cafe tables. We ordered a appetizer, plus there were the free chips, and each of our drinks and entrees, and there was no room for it all. None of the tables were a decent size.Basically, the whole experience was sub-par and not worth the money we paid for it. Given the level of service everywhere else in Vegas or at just New York/New York, this seemed even worse. If I had this kind of dining experience at home it would irritate me, but when I'm in a city with so much good food and I have a lousy dining experience, it's ten times worse.
