Cabbages & Condoms is off the main street. A free vasectomy from the clinic next door is available for the male diners, and proceeds go to Population and Community Development Association (PDA), a non-profit organization founded in 1974 that tries to make condoms as common as cabbages (a common staple of Thailand).

Once seated, it was a while before our server took our order. There are fruit drinks available. The service was slow on the uptake, taking perhaps 10 to 15 minutes. The quality of the foods we tried was very high. Condoms are given out at the end of the meal instead of breath mints.

On another visit, we ordered deep-fried crab rolls with minced shrimp and minced water chestnuts THB 150 were good, the pan-fried salmon with payaya salad THB 300 was alright, the steamed whole sea bass THB 300, a popular dish wasn't to my taste, the service wasn't nearly as good. They served the fish with a heat source underneath with the idea of keeping the fish hot while you consume it, I don't care for this practice as the fish is overcooked.

There's a gift shop there if you feel inclined to buy something there. There wasn't anything I saw there that I really had to have. The Rubber Tree Lounge is open till 1am and offers free Internet with 3 stations or wi-fi with your own laptop.

There's another restaurant in Chiang Mai and a resort in Pattaya, both seemed more out of the way than the Bangkok location.
