The Ore House

This was our first meal in town after a day of flying. The Ore House is located on the second floor and has a porch that opens on the plaza, but is heated and insulated in winter. The Ore House advertises that it serves a hundred different margaritas and the wait staff will advise you on the differences. We were seated inside by the fireplace (it was November) and we ordered just the main course.

I had trout topped with sun-dried tomatoes minced in sour cream, crusted with pecans. It was light and delicious. I have reproduced the same recipe at home with success. The vegetable was butternut squash with a hint of spice, also mixed rice. Along with a margarita (Ore House gold, I think) it was a lovely welcome to Santa Fe.
