Desperately in need of updating and upgrading

I recently stayed at the Flamingo. It was not my first choice of lodging, but I was not making the reservations. First, it took 45 minutes to get checked in on Sunday night no less. Then, we were directed thru the casino floor to get to our elevators pulling luggage with no clearly visable signage for the ramps. Then when we get to our floor we are 60+ rooms from the elevator. By this point, what little positive expectations I had were long gone. The carpet in the hallways was dated, stained, very wrinkled and in some places taped down with duct tape. The room itself was OK. clean for the most part. The bed was too high for my short legs, the mattress had some very loud squeaks in it and it moved. Every time I got up from the bed I had practically lift and shove the mattress back into place. Not to mention it was a hard mattress, one that did not support my arthritic knees. Oh, the yucky pepsi products in the vending machines, $3.00 for a 20 oz bottle. I will not be staying at the Flamingo ever again and I will tell anyone who is making the trip to Vegas to do the same.
