No room was available after traveling by car for 10 hours, with 2 Special Needs Animals!

We booked, paid for the entire 6 days of our much anticipated family vacation, contacted hotel 3 days prior to arrival AND called again while on the road all to confirm our arrival and reservation. We were assured they had our paid, non-smoking, lower level, king size room awaiting our late arrival. When we arrived, NO room was available. We were ask to for 'a few hours', take an absolutely disgusting smoking room, with twin beds. The room's smell was so offensive on opening the door, there was no way we would stay even a minute. Totally unacceptable, and the hotel didn't care we were stranded!
