Beautiful Hotel, Poor Services and Bad Food

My husband and I booked a four night stay at the Golden Nugget. We loved the location of the hotel and how beautiful it was. It smelled great throughout the hotel and the decor was nice. Our room was really nice. We loved having a fridge in the room. The bed was very comfortable. However the bathroom was a little off. The rim around the bathtub had cracked gualk everywhere. It doesn't take more than five minutes to fix that but I guess it's not a big deal. The shower door let water spill when taking a shower. Their toiletiers were nice. When we checked in we were taken back on how dry the front desk asssociate was. She barely looked nor smiled at us. She was the first employee of many to give us the I really don't care about customer service attitude I'm just here to pay my bills attitude. I deal with people in customer service with that attitude on my day to day, but on vacation its not necessary. The first meal we had was at the 24 dinner, after ordering the meatloaf the waiter asked me if I was sure. He point blank told me he had received many compliants that day in regards to the meatloaf. He suggested fish and chips, and I went for it. Half way through my meal I started feeling sick. I couldn't finish it. The meal did not sit well and I had to pay for it that night. The staff at the Starbucks in the building was the most unhappy people I have ever met. We went there more than once and were so shocked on how much they didn't care about their customers. We went to the Buffet only once, due to the lack of quality of the food. We had breakfast a few times from their coffee shop. The food was okay but again the customer service was not. Everywhere you looked at the Golden Nugget there was a majority of unhappy employees. The only two places in the hotel that we received decent services was the pool bar and Italian resturant. A few nights we had pizza and on the last night we sat in the restuarant and had a nice dinner. Although my husband was confused as to if he was really eatting chicken alfredo. His chicken had a different texture and taste, in the end he decided it must have been turkey. But he was surprised when the waiter told us they didn't even have Turkey in the kitchen. We were also very surprised that most of the shops closed early at the Golden Nugget. When checking out we weren't even asked how our stay was. Overall the Golden Nugget looks really nice, has nice rooms, a nice pool but really poor food options and customer service.
