We upgraded from an island-view room to an ocean-view suite at a negotiated price that was well worth the extra cost. The suite was huge, beautifully furnished, well-maintained, with a fantastic view. The only problem was that the lighting made reading difficult at night. As much as I hate to admit it, I also appreciated a suite-unique router that made accessing the Internet quick and easy. The people providing services at the hotel were helpful and friendly, especially Charles who dealt with the beach-related facilities. This was our first time in Turks & Caicos. We felt its major benefit was rest and relaxation (which is what we were looking for). Our favorite (and only) activity was the half-day snorkeling trip that Charles arranged. We did rent a car one day that got us to the famous Conch Shack but we didn't feel there were many sights to see on the Island. The food at local restaurants was quite good. We especially liked "Somewhere" which was right next door to Windsong and the "Beach House" which is also within walking distance and, although somewhat expensive, offered a unique dining experience.
