I had made several business trips to Chicago in the past, and stayed at several different hotels. One trip I was in a well known chain hotel, sitting in a old shoe-box sized room, and looked across the street into the beautiful rooms of the Conrad. I inquired into the cost of such presumed luxury, and found the cost to be substantially less than I was paying for the shoe-box. I moved, and have never stayed anywhere else when I'm in Chicago.
