This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby was especially lovely. All the old world charm kept when renovations were done. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, convenient and had something for everybody. The only drawback to the experience was the parking problem, but I am sure this is true with a lot of downtown hotels. This hotel is close to the Riverfront and they were having boat races over the weekend so parking was at a premium. We used the valet service through the hotel, which was a pretty good deal compared to surrounding parking lots. Downtown Montgomery is really pretty, clean and we felt safe walking around late Saturday night. The "big" hotel across was where we had to attend a reception but we liked the Hampton just as much. More character and more personal service. Overall, a very good experience.
