Friendly staff, nice private beach.

If your goal is to be on the beach this is the place to be. Other than that the rooms were not of the quality I expected. Our first room had a stale smell, and when I told them about it they handed me spray. I had a terrible night. The next day I continued to complain and they finally sent someone to my room who acknowledged the smell. They moved me to another room, which had no view, had ants, and the toilet was leaking. I told them about the ants, and toilet but nothing was done. The staff is friendly, but I don't think they fully understand what to do to satisfy a customer who is not happy. They all seem quite young. The restaurant is extremely expensive, and the food is not something to write home about. The rooms by the way don't have microwaves, and there is no free coffee in the lobby, you have to buy starbucks in the hotel shoppe. The expresso machine in the room did not do it for me. You also have to pay for daily parking. In my opinion this Waldorf should be ranked as a 3 star at best. As I said it was nice to walk to a private beach and relax. It is also close enough and far enough from Duval street that makes it a great location. That is it. So before you spend your money consider what is important for you on your trip.
