My husband, mother and father all shared a room at St Clements at Myrtle Beach. Our first day on the beach we came back to our room to find wallets and purse stolen. We lost around $600 cash and several ATM/Credit cards including Drivers License. We called front desk to report and asked a manager to call us back. The police came and was very helpful and friendly. We never heard from ANYONE that day. Following day I went to front desk and asked to speak with the manager, I was told he was in a meeting. I left my cell phone number at front desk. My mother went down a few hours later and the manager was not available, she left mine and her cell phone number. Later after dinner when we returned to the room the manager Chip (omitting last names) left a message in the room. I called back and asked Chip to call my cell phone so I could schedule a time to meet with him the following day. The next day after the beach I had another message from Chip left in the room, who calls someone's room on vacation? Someone trying to avoid talking perhaps. Long story short this continued to happen the reaming stay. Not one call made to my cell phone and Chip was NEVER available to talk to when I visited the front desk. I was contacted once I was home by Mark with the results of the investigation on the key lock door.... only our keys where used with the hours we reported we where not there (11:00-3:30). How is this possible when we came back to missing items and noticed other items moved? To add to our frustration and concern our last day there my sister was staying in this hotel as well. We look up to see a stranger standing on her balcony with her entire party sitting there on the beach. We run up to room to find the maid let a gentleman in that was looking to buy the place. This is unacceptable without someone staying from the room in there to agree. This was the worst experience I have ever had traveling and I travel 3-4 times a year. The customer service was very poor. The rooms are not what you see here and the fitness center equipment did not work. I even called Darby, another manager to tell them I saw that they where a member of the Better Business Bureau and wanted to give him another chance to discuss this matter with me before I filed a complaint. I wanted two business days and a weekend still No returned call. Plenty of other options at this beach do not stay at this resort.
