This was our third time on the resort and well come again. Resort has 2 sections. Old section closest to the beach and newer section within 5 minutes of walking distance from the beach. If you one of the 300lb people or older person then stay in the older section so youll be closer to the ocean main pool and restaurants. If you dont mind walking off few calories on the way to the beach then newer section is the way to go. Newer section also has nicer bigger rooms with flat screen TV and jacuzzi. This is a map of the resort it will give you better idea of resort layout: http://www.bill-and-val.com/photo/sandosplayacar/simpleviewer/simpleviewer/images/map.jpg Buffet food is pretty good but selection stays pretty much the same with small variations. Resort restaurants are good my favorite is a Steakhouse Asiana and French. Make restaurant reservation when you arrive they will not accept walk ins. Beach is outstanding and one of the main reasons Ill be coming to the resort again there is very few resorts in Mexico that can compare in this regard. Entertainment is good for a Mexican resort there is always room for improvement though. Staff is very friendly and always ready for service they might not know enough English to support a conversation but understand enough to do their jobs. Ive been reading here that people were saying that this hotel not as good as Riu but Riu would charge you 30-40 more for a stay. In overall this is a great family resort with clean rooms well kept property good food beautiful beach and within 5 min- 5 taxi drive from Playa Del Carmen where you can find cheap massages shopping great restaurants and tons of entertainment.
