All in all, a pretty good hotel. Great location right across from the beach with a surf shop, Starbucks, ABC Store, and a great restaurant practically on the premises. Probably not more than 150 feet from the entrance to the Honolulu Zoo. The pool is great with wonderful views of both Diamond Head and the beach. Staff was excellent, the place was clean, and a great restaurant and sports bar (LuLu's). Most rooms had a really good view, since we had people coming and going, I stayed in 3 different rooms. Those are the pros. Now for the cons: They seem to nickle and dime you quite a bit. Most hotels offer free internet to print your boarding pass. Not here, not only did you have to pay to log on, but you had to pay a buck or so per page printed. They have a safe in some rooms, but not all. If you used cost 4 dollars per day, last hotel I stayed in it was complimentary. Plus, instead of having a combination, it had a key, which I hated carrying everywhere I went. Also the elevator wasn't secure, anyone could ride to any floor including the pool, I'd prefer having it where you used your room card key. The hotel is definately worn and outdated. In one room the water in the shower alternated between very hot and very cold. On the other hand, the beds were very comfortable. But most of that stuff is bearable given the great location, the amenities, the cleanliness, the excellent staff, and the like. Plus, if you need to book a tour, the desk in the lobby wasn't super high pressure like a lot of places.
