From the moment I stepped into the lovely, sparkling foyer and then to my loft (!) room, I was most pleasantly impressed by the Residenza Cannaregio. Although fairly far from most attractions in Venice, the hotel's location in Cannaregio (near the Ghetto Nuovo) makes for a lovely, quiet retreat from the hubub of the Piazza San Marco and the myriad tourists choking the streets of the city. The hotel staff were all most friendly and helpful, (even letting me print out my boarding passes upon my departure). And the breakfast! An enormous buffet each morning, with scrambled eggs and bacon, other meats in abundance, fresh fruit, cereals, croissants, bagels, toast, cheeses, and delicious cakes and tarts. Quite impressive! I plan on staying there again...HIGHLY reccommended!
