This trip was the first time in 20+ years that my husband and I had gone to Myrtle Beach during the summer so it was definitely more crowded than we were used to. It was the first time we had stayed at Compass Cove and we were very pleased with the resort. The room was very clean. It had 2 double beds which were relatively comfortable, a full size fridge, an apartment size stove and a small microwave and a coffe pot (being your own coffee). The bathroom was small with very little counter space but adequate for our needs. The decor was a bit dated and a maintenance man who came to unstop the bathroom sink said that we were in the oldest part of the resort and the plumbing was inadequate. We were in room 861 which had a limited side to side view because of some decorative walls and we were directly above The Crow's Nest Restaurant which gave us some cooking odors on our balcony after 11:00 am. The restaurant had good food and did a lot of take out business. They had happy hour from 4-7 and musical entertainment from 7-10 each night with different singers each night. The pools were nice and there was outdoor events at the pool Tiki Bar weather permitting. All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. There were some unattended teenagers that were annoying but nothing too out of hand. We will definitely stay here again.
