Everyone from the doorman to the janitor was friendly and made an effort to say good morning or good evening each and every time. Apparently there is construction going on across the street and the hotel provided earplugs (nice gesture). The restaurant staff needed to be reminded to get drinks, remove dishes, check;but were also very friendly. Lots of homless across the street in the park, not too much of a bother (other than can I have spare change). We walked to Edgar Allen Poe's grave and the panhandlers were out in masses. We ducked into a local McDonalds and the cop guard (complete with holstered gun) was a welcomed relief. But the hotel staff, wonderful; room, wonderful; clean, absolutely. Reminded me of a botique hotel. I/we would definitely stay again.
