Really enjoyed staying at Royal Plaza. I appreciated everything about the hotel: location (near MTR, shopping, food, the Flower Market, the Bird Garden, the night markets). The room was very clean and comfortable, comparable to a 5-star hotel. Currently they are undergoing some construction -- I think they're connecting the hotel lobby with the adjacent shopping center so you won't have to step outside the hotel to enter the shopping center. Construction noise is from 9am-5pm, which works out because I'm out all day anyway. Not sure when the construction will be over. The Airport Express has direct connection to a free bus shuttle to the hotel and the bell men are quick to greet you at the bus and help you with luggage -- very helpful since I was traveling alone and didn't have to struggle with my luggage. Also, took advantage of their free shuttle to Tsim Sha Tsui where I could start my day, then just took the MTR back to the hotel. One thing to be aware of, since the MTR stop is Mongkok East, there are a bit of transferring to the other MTR lines, you can't go directly to TST or to Central, so plan your trip ahead of time so you'll understand where to transfer, etc. My only regret is I didn't get a chance to use their pool or gym. The pool looked beautiful. Also, I didn't pay for the internet in my room, but went next door to the shopping center and used their free wifi on the 2nd and 5th floors (the food court). Also, if you need to make local calls, just go to the Customer Service desk at the shopping center and they will gladly let you use their phone. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it highly to all my friends.
