I enjoyed my stay in Barcelona, and the Montblanc hotel met my needs. They gave me a code for the wifi when I got my keycard, and it worked well the whole time. Free wifi is the best when traveling in Europe, since phone calls to the states can be expensive. The hotel has a restaurant which serves an awesome breakfast. Breakfast is not complimentary, though. I had to go out of my way though notify the server that I was a guest, and give her my room number to charge my room. The hotel is located perfectly. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance from the hotel, and most tourist sites are within walking distance. The room was much more quaint than I would have expected. It was clean and tidy, though. it had a minibar but no safe. The bedspreads were old, and ugly, but the bed was reasonably comfortable. The room decor reminded me a motel 6, very spartan and lots of browns. I was just initially surprised with the room. I did not try room service, but the front desk was helpful and spoke English. I have never stayed in Europe before, so this experience may be typical of most hotels in the area.
