Overall Springmaid is a pretty good place to stay.

We stayed in the Palmetto Dunes building at Springmaid. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Housekeeping was not the best. There were days that no one showed up. One time we found a garbage bag of clean towels at our door but they did not clean. We had a light blow in our bathroom and someone came to fix it but had to leave for a part and never returned! After several hours, with no light and the light fixture all apart, we complained and we were placed in another room because they were not sure when someone would get to it. They did comp us free breakfast at Marlin's (which really wasn't that good). To top it off, mid way through our vacation they closed our pools for repair! On the bright side we didn't need to worry about parking because the building had its own parking garage. The people working the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. The grounds had other buildings which had pools we could go to. The beach area was not overcrowded and was pretty clean. I liked that it was set further down the beach and not right in the middle of the "action".
