Fully equipped condo, not just a hotel

Let me review this place step by step: *PRICE: Although I feel the normal rate is appropriate for what you get, if you do a "last minute reservation" like I did, which I believe is travel within 2 weeks or so, you get a spectacular deal... I got our room 50% off the typical room rate. Then after my husband called and explained this was our anniversary, and made a few requests, they ended up bumping us from the 1 bedroom we paid for to a vacant 2 bedroom for the same price! We ended up in a full 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo for the same rate as the neighboring Clarion. Can't beat that!! *IN ROOM AMENITIES: I can't stress this enough.... if you arrive here and feel you are still lacking in amenities, there is something seriously wrong with you. You can't ask for anything more. Master bath consisted of a 2 person corner jacuzzi tub, stand up shower with seat, dual sink marble top vanity, of course the complimentary toiletries including a full size hairdryer... even a flashlight! Master bedroom had it's own LCD TV with DVD player. Living room had electric fireplace with remote, LCD TV with DVD player, couch and chair. Private porch overlooked golf course and came complete with outdoor furniture. Separate dining room had a full size table with 6 leather bound chairs. Kitchen had everything you have at home including all Cuisinart small appliances (coffee pot, blender, toaster, etc), dishwasher, ice maker, and all dishes and cooking equipment - even complimentary detergent. There was even a washer and dryer in the room with a free box of Tide so we were able to wash our clothes before heading back home. *RESORT AMENITIES: Putt putt, HUGE pool area with cabana bar, indoor pool (I didn't use any of these so I can't speak on their behalf, but they were gorgeous!), gated community with a 24hr attendant, individual buildings with 6 condos per building allow for limited interruptions/noise. *LOCATION: If you are looking to tour Williamsburg, it's not far from anything. However, if you are looking to have a few drinks at a tavern in Colonial Williamsburg then head back to your place, I'd suggest getting a taxi. *STAFF: Ok, this is the one section where I didn't give a perfect score, let me explain why. First of all, the gate attendants were awesome. Even when all the parking spots were full and we had no where to park, he called for another attendant to come take his place so he could move his car further away so we could take his spot! Most of the check-in and check-out people were awesome, quick, and very polite. The only problem we had was during check-in. My husband had a gorgeous bouquet of flowers delivered to the resort for our anniversary. Since we got there a little early, the flowers arrived just as we were checking in. The lady was trying to get us to spend 90 minutes watching one of their sales shows. Being both salespeople, we understood she had a job to do, but she was being slightly annoying in trying to get us to sign up for the sales pitch. I was in the middle of opening my card on the flowers when she asks for a $20 deposit to "hold our place" at the sales meeting. My husband even made the comment "ummm, you're kind of killing our moment here!" and yet she kept on trying to get the $20 deposit from us, offering all kinds of incentives and saying it's refundable. My husband and I were right in the middle of having a romantic moment, I was thanking him for the flowers and telling him how much I loved him, and she kept trying to get an extra 20 bucks out of us. I just felt that was rude and she should have backed off. If she would've backed off, we might have spent the time watching their (what I can only assume was) timeshare pitch. But after her pushing we both agreed to walk away. All in all, I would DEFINITELY recommend this place, and we absolutely plan to return - maybe next time closer to summer with the kids so we can enjoy the pool. However, if you aren't in the mood for a sales pitch, you may want to say that right up front to thwart any issues. But it was a minor inconvenience considering what we got for the price we paid....
