My wife and I stayed at the Morgan Hotel for 3 nights for a little rest and relaxation in mid-February, 2012. I read the reviews about the hotel before booking our stay, and I must say that all of the positive reviews were right on target. It was completely full the entire time we were there, and I presume that most of the guests were there for the same reason we were: to visit the Hearst Castle. It was very quiet, and exceptionally clean. The staff was very knowledgeable about the Hearst Castle and other sight-seeing opportunities in the area and they were very pleasant. There was plenty of food for the continental breakfast. I would give it the highest recommendation. As far as details: 1. The queen beds were very comfortable and were very warm. 2. The heat worked great. 3. Plenty of hot water. One thing I noticed in other places we stayed in California is that water often had a sulphur odor. Not at the Morgan Hotel. 4. There was a separate switch for an exhaust fan in the bathroom. 5. Huge towels! 6. A large digital TV and good television reception. 7. Good wi-fi service; no problems with connecting to the internet. 8. Great room-darkening drop-down shades for sleeping in late! A skunk had a disagreement with some other animal outside our room the first night, and it left its "signature." Of course, trying to control skunks would be the same as trying to control the tide on the Pacific Ocean. Nevertheless, the staff was out first thing in the morning deleting the "signature!" A great place and surprisingly inexpensive!
