The property was very nice but the food was not good for the price.

We arrived at the hotel and were told the high floor level non-smoking room that we were suppose have was not available. After much debate they found our corner ocean front room. The restaurants were very hard to get a reservation. We had done an all inclusive at Secrets Maroma and the property, food and service were amazing. At the Royal the staff was so nice however the food was very bad. The Spice restaurant was the best and it was the buffet. Each restaurant had different themes but would all overlap and serve many of the same things with different sauces on them and the meat was like mystery meat. This property could be amazing if they stop cutting back on the food quality and work on the menus and food quality. One last thing! They served no food out at the pool which was odd because at Secrets they had food all the time at the pool.
