This was our first visit to Hong Kong, and we enjoyed the Metropark Causeway Bay immensely. First of all, the staff --particularly Kiki and Maggie-- were astoundingly helpful, even finding us a double bed when their records did not show it as requested. They gave us advice on Chinese language, great suggestions for public transit, and were responsive to all our needs, even sending a lost article to us in Connecticut. The bell staff hailed cabs for us, gave our destinations to the Chinese drivers, and hauled our luggage into and out of shuttle buses. The hotel itself is bright and very clean, with the check-in desk in a sun-filled atrium up an escalator. The rooms were bright, not too small, and comfortable. The bath and shower were fine. Be sure to pay the bit extra for a harbor view -- and the higher up, the better. The breakfast buffet is great-- one of the best we've seen, and Vic's Bar is intimate and pleasant. Unfortunately, these are the only public areas, but they were more than adequate for us. The location is super. Quieter than in in the city center, full of greenery next door to Victoria Park with all its interesting action. Subway, tram and bus are minutes away. Easily reached by the airport via the Airport Express train and the free shuttle from Central Station.
