Location: Great if you are visiting a nearby university or hospital. Less so if you plan to spend much time downtown, are heading to a game, etc. But compared to downtown, the price is right. Arrival: Longish, but easy ride from the airport on the 28X bus for $3.25 (vs. a $50 cab ride). Check-in: a breeze, despite it being a busy weekend (Halloween + Steelers game) and the late hour. Room: Relatively large, clean, comfy, quiet (sometimes). Bed: Very good compared to others I?ve stayed at in this chain. Staff: Very polite, friendly and helpful. Good stuff: Free internet, breakfast included, parking, and walkable to ?downtown Oakland.? Also, the free shuttle was a great add-in that I?d not expected, but made good use of several times. Bad stuff: No real downside, except know what you are getting, and ask for a quiet room (away from the highway), or post your ?do not disturb? sign if getting any sleep after 8:00am is part of your plan.
