Just like the boutique hotels of Europe, you walk around the corner and almost walk right by. The understated entrance leads into a small, but stately, lobby with an Italian or Spanish sensibility. Our room was small, but cozy and warm, overlooking the avenue. Centrally located, dining and entertainment was accessable either by taking a short excursion into LoDo, (Lower Downtown Denver) created in the heart of Denver's warehouse district and historic Hop Alley- a playground for jazz lovers and metalheads alike, or strolling to the glittering 16th Street Mall and free shuttle, running its length from the capitol building to historic Larimer Street Square, only a few short steps from the front door. Staff and service is friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable-my wife slept in till 10 am. But it's the location and personality of this suprising hidden jewel which gives it real value.
