We had pretty high hopes for the InterContinetal Montreal, but were generally disappointing. A couple of positives first: 1) The location is great. Right in the heart of old montreal and still walking distance to downtown etc. 2) Concierge: Both the concierges we worked with were very helpful Now some negatives: 1) Rest of staff: The rest of the staff, other than the concierges noted above, were not very friendly or helpful. We stayed there three nights and on the second night, our room was not made up. We called and the receptionist blamed us, stating we had the do not disturb sign on the door. We had in fact had the do not disturb sign on for exactly one hour all day. She said there was nothing they could do because all the cleaning staff was gone. I had to argue with her before they sent someone else to make up our room. 2) Services: Service was very slow on everything - definitely not what you would expect from an Intercon. 3) No free internet or wifi I've stayed at a number of Intercon's and other nice hotels and definitely, this was not up to par. There is a Westin next door that I think we will stay at next time.
