I visited London this past week and had a great time staying at this hotel. First of all, it is so easy to get to from Heathrow Airport. Take the Piccadily train line from the airport to Gloucester stop and you are one and a half blocks from the hotel. The hotel is a short walk from many restaurants, shops and stores also. I think it is in one of the nicest areas of London (Kensington) and is walking distance to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The hotel is large, but very well run. It has all of the amenities I could ever need, and one that I wouldn't have expected - a guest relations representative (too bad I can't name her, but she was on the day shift the week of August 4th). This person made sure everything ran smoothly, and it did. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is attractive, with a modern lobby and nice eating facilities. The food is reasonably priced by London standards. The gym is small, but had enough equipment for a good workout and the machines were all up to date and in good working order. The room was CLEAN! Spotless, actually, which I really like. It is a bit small by American standards, and probably average by London standards. I found it comfortable and not cramped. There was a large, plasma TV in the room and it had a small refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable. The airconditioner worked well and was very quiet. The room itself was quiet and I did not hear my neighbors at all. In summary, I had a wonderful experience staying here and would make this my first selection on a return trip.
