Front desk staff and manger were very pleasant and helpful. Rate shown at website on Dec. 5, 2010 was very good for area and easily obtained when I walked in. I expected a decent room for a good night's sleep and that is what I had. While some of the other critical reviews may be warranted, I wonder what some travelers' expectations are truly in prspective for a hotel that is obviously a few decades old?? Always a good idea to ask to look at your room before completing check-in and fully committing. I got what I expected and more. Room was nicely furnished and equipped. While not the most current in decor, it certainly was not terribly out of date or dingy. Yes, there were a few where the room showed its age. For example, the bath/shower rod was attached on one end with a wire to the ceiling, a stain on the carpet and the window treatment was a bit off level due to a loose mount on one end. However, I found the room fairly clean, comfortable and pleasant especially for the price. I could easily have paid a higher rate for a more perfect, more modern or a higher rated accommodation. My needs were met. The price was reasonable and the room was even more spacious, comfortable and equipped than I might have expected. The breakfast was very good--wide variety of pleasantly displayed and maintained breakfast bar, including hot waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit cups, pastries, bagels, cereal, juice, etc. I've stayed at higher rated hotels with less offered on the breakfast bar.
