Hotel smelled bad when we walked in. Room was dirty and needed remodeled. We checked out within an hour and found a different hotel. Staff was not friendly and very rude. Spoke to management about how dissatisfied we were. They said we would not be billed for the room. Staff would not give me any confirmation claiming they had canceled us at no charge. We believed them only to find out 2 weeks later they did charge our debit card. Contacted manager she was not very friendly said she would check into the matter and call me back, however I've never heard back from them. My husband and I were very unsatisfied and would not recommend this so called historic Dodge House to anyone. I wanted to stay their because I like antiques and am interested in history. There was nothing at all unique about this place. It was just plain dirty and should not be listed as a historic place. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please don't waste your money. We ended up checking into the LaQuinta Inn which is right next door. AWESOME HOTEL. Staff was friendly and courteous. Rooms were excellent and clean. So if you want rude staff and a filthy filthy place to stay try the Dodge House, other wise run to the LaQuinta Inn while in Dodge.
