My son and I stayed here for three nights (R, F and Sa) and were exceptionally pleased. Staff was warm and welcoming. Room service was fast and tasty. The Starbucks in the lobby was VERY handy, but a bit disappointed it was not open in the evening. The lobby restaurant was OK for the money. Nothing exceptional to speak of here. The proximity of the Metro literally 50 feet away was amazing. Not on is it a Metro stop, but it is a transfer station with access to all four lines. No transfer required. We bought a $10 Metro card ahead of our trip which worked out great. Cost per trip was $1.40. We purchased a $10 card. We left the left over fare on the card and gave it to our housekeeper. It was also two stops (5 minutes) from Union Station where we used MARC ($14 r/t per person) to go to the Baltimore National Aquarium and we traveled home on Amtrak, both VERY easily accessible from the hotel even with baggage. I got an incredible weekend rate of $* per night for a downtown hotel. Internet access from the room was pricey ($12.95 from start until noon the next day). Room was immaculant and well appointed. Our view was an alley and a brick wall from the 12th floor but I did not come to Washington to look out the window. The pool in interior and small. The beds were VERY comfortable. I usually cannot sleep the first night in an unfamiliar bed, but I slept VERY well. I would definetly stay here again.
