After reading the details of the over 1500 hotel possibilities in Paris...I became rather confused. We did not want a hotel with 500 rooms, we wanted a hotel,in a good location, that offered us a pleasant stay in Paris. After finally narrowing the selections available, I had five of the choices to choose from... and finally decided that the Hotel Duret semed to fit our desires. We are from the United States and lived in the Chicago area for 30 years. We travel extensively but had not spent any time in Paris. My husband and I travel together. When we arrived, after flying in from London, we were greeted by a marvelous, friendly man who had been waiting for us . We were taken to our room (on the sixth floor) and were astonished at the "blue room" that was to be ours for the next five days. The decor was up-to-date and the area was large and very well decorated. The bathroom was spotless... we were in a corner room with three french door type windows ...The desk service was friendly, helpful, kind, and available to obtain transportation (taxis) to anywhere in almost an instant. The breakfast service was quiet and served a typical European selection. We will return to the Hotel Duret Champs Elysees every opportunity that we have to be in Paris. The location is perfect, It is, in our opinion, a true "gem". We have made over 40 trips to Europe. the UK and Asia. We feel that we are capable of giving a high rating to a special hotel like the Duret. We loved it!
