Our first suite was lowest level with views of the air conditioning equipment. Dirty carpets, no view, no king bed, no decor. After arguing with the front desk, front desk manager and assistant manager, we got an 8th floor suite. They "don't have any control over 3rd party vendors" (travelocity) therefore they won't match their own lower pricing offered prior to arrival, won't confirm bedding, won't really care that you overpaid by $130 a night. Hotel breakfast was obviously union labor on their own schedule. Black mold in the shower grout, filthy carpeting, no pool or sauna. This DC landmark needs a new owner. Won't stay at a Renaissance hotel ever again.
