I stayed at the Aladdin for two nights on business. I was greeted with a glass of champagne upon my arrival, and was quickly checked in by their very friendly concierge. My room was very nice, albeit a bit small (it was only me so it didn't turn out to be an issue). It was also very quiet at night and I didn't hear anyone out in the halls or above me (might be a slow time of year and not too many guests), but the heating unit was kind of loud when it kicked on (made a loud clicking noise) and woke me up a few times during the night. That was annoying, but it was the only thing I can complain about. The restaurant had good food for breakfast and dinner, with a very nice wait staff. In fact, I found Kansas City in general to be a very friendly place, wherever I went.
To sum up:
Positives: Beautiful decor, great people on staff (including their restaurant wait staff), helpful doorman, right next to bus stop, quiet, nice restaurant, martini lounge, choice of pillow in room, internet access in rooms as well as business center, fitness center, and did I mention the lovely people who work there?
Negatives: Loud heating system in room, single queen room a bit small (but quite nice still), and bed was too hard for me (personal preference here, I'm used to a foam pillow top!).
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling for business! A+!
