Don't Travel Early...

I was very excited about staying in what appeared to be a historic landmark hotel in Kansas City. I was going to see B.B. King at a nearby theater the night I traveled, so I arrived as early in the day as possible in hopes of seeing some of Kansas City before I returned home the following day. I ended up sight-seeing with my bags as this hotel does NOT do check-in before 4:00 pm! No exceptions (at least that's what the desk clerk told me). So, I lugged my bags around for over 2 hours. When I finally got into my room, it was very nice. Great television, bed was comfy, room was relatively clean. Views aren't much too talk about. The lobby is beautiful. The inhouse restaurant is WAY overpriced compared to the surrounding area, so if you need a good meal at a decent price, leave the hotel. I did partake of the breakfast buffet (almost $12) and it was good, nothing special, but convenient. I would consider staying here again, but feel like the late-check-in rule should be plastered on any reservation they make from any site with whom they work. I would have definitely arranged my travel differently. B.B. King made the hotel inconvenience insignificant though, the man truly is the King of the Blues! :-)
