The hotel does a number of things well. The rooms are decent, the staff friendly, and they have a fairly nice beach area (for this island). They also did nice job at keeping things clean. Unfortunately, they seemed to miss on a number of small things. My biggest gripe is that they charge their guests extra for booking trips (virtually every hotel in the world is happy with the tour operator's referral fee). Do yourself a favor and BOOK YOUR ACTIVITIES DIRECTLY WITH THE TOUR OPERATOR IN TOWN. This one cost me an extra $50 (US).
Another gripe is that there is no real good way to get to town for dinner / nightlife. A water taxi exists, but its $16/person RT. When coupled with 'island prices,' it makes an evening out quite expense. t would be nice if they offered even a single boat run into town, say out at 6:00 and return at 9:00. I should mention that they also rent bicycles, but those bikes are very poorly maintained.
Another grip is that they do not have any hooks in the rooms. People come here to dive. Divers are going to have to rinse out their wetsuits, swimsuits, etc and then try them out. Give them a place to do it.
Yea, nitpicks all, but there are dozens of basically identical hotels along the beach.
