Very unique, nice hotel. As an architect, my husband appreciated the art deco motif. We thought the room was very nice and the towels made into an elephant was adorable. Location is amazing. Everything is right at your doorstep in downtown Kansas City. Staff was very polite and accomodating. We will likely stay again, despite the minor minuses: TV didn't work when we arrived very late at night, but maintenance came up promptly and fixed it; no hairdryer was in the room the next morning when I got up to get ready, but maintenance brought one right up; the elevators are very, very loud, but we weren't really disturbed by it; I never did find vending; Room service was polite, prompt, the menu choices are great, but breakfast was burned and not everything was on the tray when they brought it up - food quality was not great. Zebra Room dining experience for dinner was a disappointment. Service was extremely slow and the dinner was ruined by the extreme cold as the front door was opened and closed and opened, each time sending a blast of cold air into the dining room. Food was dismal. I like the decor, I like the idea, I like the look of the menu, but someone needs to be in the kitchen that actually knows how to prepare food. For the price, I expected much, much more and much, much better.
