When we arrived, we were given a room with 2 double beds even though our reservation had confirmed a king size bed. We called the front desk and explained the situation. We were told the hotel was completely booked and there was nothing they could do about it. On top of that, we were also told that, when you make your reservation through an Internet-based service , you get the "leftovers." That is the exact term used to describe their position.
This was simply unacceptable. I explained that I was a Hilton Honors member and that I wanted to speak to a manager. About 5 minutes later, we were told they had located a room with a king size bed but that it was a smoking room (as was the room with the 2 double beds). We agreed to take it and then, a few mintues after that, they suddenly found a non-smoking king room. Funny, I thought the hotel was completely booked?
Stand up and fight for what is right. Old fashioned customer service is a thing of the past. The more popular the destination, the less anyone seems to care anymore. I don't take crap from anyone anymore.
