There simply may be no decent, reasonably priced hotels in Rome, so let?s abandon any discussion of value for price. Here at least the rooms are light, clean and reasonably sized, though lacking any drawers for your clothes. The breakfast is nice and substantial, including espresso or capuchino to order. Hotel is locatec in a residential neighborhood outside the old Roman walls, but 20-30 minutes by bus to Colosseum, Forum, Piazza Venezia, etc, or 15 minute walk to the Metro with connections throughout the city. But on the other hand - Most rooms front on a courtyard which on our first night was rented out to party celebrating a baptism ? thus we couldn?t sleep until well after midnight. Staff and manager apologized but couldn?t solve the problem. Rooms that don?t front the courtyard are in view (and earshot) of the main train tracks to Termini Station.
Staff speak reasonable though not great English, internet is available in the lobby or by unsecure wifi for a modest price. Rooms have phone and TV, no fridge, very limited space to wash clothes. Ventilation/air conditioning is questionable ? we had to rely on the windows, thus more noise.
