The hotel is beautiful at first site. I will highly compliment the room (ie. comfort of bed, clenliness of room & awesome interior view overlooking the pool & seaport)! However, for a NYer to say this it seems crazy but, everything in that place was over priced! - room service, laundry service, taxi ( compared to getting a cab from somewhere other than in front oft he hotel), buffet dinner (we paid over $50pp - US$s the 1st night & NEVER AGAIN did we eat there). The hotel is a short walk from main activites and eateries in town, but foreigners are advised not to walk @night.
Another problem - construction noise - not at the hotel, but across the street and next door. The sliding glass doors leading to our balcony were not sound proof & the noise begins promptly @ 6am! Finally the because of construction, a few times we encountered a noxious odor. We were only 2 blocks fr. seaport (the taxi charged us $10 US-CRAZY!) & went to Tobago just for the day- GREAT BEACHES!!!! Maybe we should have stayed there instead!
If you're looking for serenity and bang for your buck, its not really @ this hotel.
