My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Southernmost on the Beach July 24-27 to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. It was our first visit to Key West and we'd compiled quite a bit of recommendations on places to stay, eat, visit, etc. I must say we were very happy w/ the choice to stay at Southernmost on the Beach. The first night we stayed, everything was just as we expected and ideal. The next day, Friday, we were a little concerned about the preparations going into a reggae concert to be held on the property and were a bit bothered by the fact that the parking spots in front of our room had several larger trucks (concert-related) and really made sitting on the porch to enjoy the view and some R&R impossilbe. But, we were most impressed by the hotel's willingness to move our room and offered to do so w/out a fuss. The hotel did everything it could to ensure our visit was a good one and they efficiently and effectively handled a large concert crowd. We had no idea the magnitude of the concert when we rec'd the "heads up" phone call at home prior to our arrival and it wasn't until we arrived and saw just how big of a deal it was that we better understood all it entailed. The staff seemed completely organized and on the ball and the intrusion to the guests was minimal. We hope to return to Key West again and we'll certainly stay at Southernmost on the Beach. The location is IDEAL!! Close to Duvall (a blcok) but quiet!
