Rocky Point is a rater ordinary place but if you are going to go, this is the only hotel to stay at. I say that because it is the only large property on the beach and near the malecon area where the restaurants, trinket shops and fish markets for tourists are. By near I mean a mile or mile and a half, which is not a pleasant or pretty walk, but an easy 5 minute ride. The hotel has decent and attractive facilities and my reservation was upgraded from an ocean front room to an ocean front suite at no cost. It is much less expensive than similar properties in Southern California. When we checked in there was a group of several bus loads of young people (age 18-25?) checking out. If you do or don't want this at the hotel you are staying at, I suggest you check on groups in attendance before you make your reservation.
