Room was not as described in the reservation. Flat screen TV? Think old small counter top TV. Wasn't a major issue though, since channels were very limited. The elevator at least brought you up to your floor, but plan on taking the stairs down. The only way you will get the elevator is if someone just happens to becoming to your floor. Staff was not particularly helpful. Rooms could use some upgrading, as it appearred that most of the fixtures were original. Rugs and furniture are stained. Maid service is hit and miss. However, the hotel is an easy distance from the conference center and tourist attractions. On the downside, San Francisco has gone downhill. The sidewalks and roads are dangerously in need of repair. Homeless and panhandlers are everywhere. You cannot leave a store or restaurant without being hassled. If there is a police officer there, don't expect them to help. They'll just tell you to give the panhandlers what they want or threaten you, if you refuse. The streets smell like urinals and look like trash dumps. San Francisco is no longer a favorite destination.
