I'm sad to let people know of this hidden gem in Atlanta, but feel it is my obligation to do so. The Ellis Hotel, a recently renovated "boutique" hotel in downtown Atlanta, is a 1 joy. The rooms are even quiet during the madness of DragonCon! The results of the renovation include marble bathrooms (floor to ceiling marble tiles) which stay cool in Atlanta's heat; a gorgeous restaurant; and an adequate air conditioning system. The reservations for the balcony overlooking the street are even maintained during the busiest parades; if you reserve it, it's yours. While I was there, grown men were spending five minutes praising the staff at the front desk during a very busy morning checkout. Can't recommend this hotel more.
