After reading the reviews, we were very skeptical of the hotel. However we have to say we were impressed with the partial view rooms we had. Luckily I had my husband with me who is hispanic and could communicate with the staff. Very few Americans stayed at this hotel, mostly Canadians and locals. The Activity director did a great job of having activities for the young guests. My son is 14 and enjoyed participating in soccer on the beach, pool games, and basketball. As far as the beach it is nice, I would suggest you use the roped section if you do not like to be bothered by the vendors on the beach. We would just tell them no thank you and most moved on. Housekeeping was nice and respected the Do not disturb sign. Wash cloths were few , so I would pack my own. We had two rooms right across each other on the 8th floor. If you go to bed early, I would request a room on the right side of the hotel away from the bar lounge downstairs they play music nightly and it can be quite loud. Be prepared for the cost of the taxis to the Airport they can run upwards of * pesos, KFC is to the left about 2 blocks. The Bodega Aurrera is where we did most of our shopping for Rotiserrie chicken and food. It is straight ahead about 2 blocks. We never ate at the hotel, their prices seemed to be typical of the restaraunts. If you are spoiled and never been to Mexico this is probably not the best place for you. If you want a reasonable price and decent clean room and can roll with the flow this is the place for you.
