Palm cove was a nice area and the staff were pleasant. It is family owned and Clive ,his wife, and daughter were very helpful regarding what to do. Our room was a spa suite and had the kitchen outside, which was strange. So we looked at other rooms with the kitchens indoors but decided to stay in our original room which had a nicer layout( with the exception of the kitchen outside). The beaches were lovely, but when we were there it rained for a couple of days. We were in Trinity Beach a week before and prefer Palm Cove. However, scuba diving and snorkelling took awhile to reach due to the distance from land to the boats then to the Great Barrier Reef. We would rather have booked a liveaboard due to scuba diving. But would have stayed on land at Palm Cove for a few days for some land excursions. Our trip was based on water activities, which would have been easier access on a liveaboard. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Reef Retreat.
